The MySE 18.5-260

The MySE 18.5-260 is part of Ming Yang’s next generation 18+ megawatt (MW) offshore wind turbine platform. With a rotor diameter of 260 metres, it represents the world’s largest offshore wind turbine by swept area, and sets a new benchmark for performance, scale, and reliability.

The platform is designed to evolve with a current rated capacity of 18.5MW, and scope for higher outputs in future iterations as technology advances.

Key Features

Record scale

260-metre rotor diameter with a swept area of 66,966 m², equivalent to 9 football fields.

Rated capacity

18.5MW, the most powerful fixed-bottom offshore turbine commercially available today.

Proven reliable drivetrain

Proven drivetrain architecture that enhances efficiency and reliability in harsh marine environments.

Platform evolution

Designed with scalability in mind, ensuring developers benefit from future upgrades without compromising near-term delivery.

Cost efficiency

Larger unit capacity reduces the number of turbines required per project, lowering installation and maintenance costs.

Cybersecure

Built with advanced data protection and control systems, the MySE 18.5-260 ensures secure operation and compliance with UK and EU cybersecurity standards, safeguarding performance and reliability throughout the turbine’s lifecycle.
